Today…OK, tonight at like 3AM CST, I signed up for the Undercity RPG. I’m giving my character an age upgrade, 12, because I figured by that point IRL I was more or less speaking as I do now and thus would not have to worry so much about slipping out of voice in a literal sense, not just OOC slips. Yeah, the character is very much a Mary-Sue, but this is my first “real” RPG attempt, and to start I figure I have to play what I know. The turning point of her character honestly is what I think would be the crux for me had I been in that situation as a child: all her (admittedly short) life thus far, she’d trusted adults, be it parents, teachers, whatever. Her peers were cruel to her and she had little interest in having anything to do with them whatsoever. Now, though, after Zero Hour, those same peers are all she has— her very survival depends on the very same people she never would have trusted to safeguard a penny before. Well, that’s roughly what’s on the character sheet, and that needs to be approved by the Powers That Be. I hope this is something I can have fun with, and it’ll give me a reason to log in as Janet more often. However, I will say right now that things with my main av will trump, so if I have to work where that av works, I’ll be there, regardless of what is going on in Undercity. I pretty much have to have that rule, because any Lindens Janet has are from the other av, and yeah I get the L$50/active-week stipend because my av is…old (Arianna Pinkerton is one of the few I’ve encountered in SL kid-dom older than that avatar,) but I like the extra income. (OK, it’s tips and some of it does go back into the club, but you know what I mean.) RL, naturally, also trumps, and given that between now and July I am attempting to relocate with a friend from college to a city 7 hours plus from where I am now, things may get hectic. I’ve lived in the same house my entire life and this’ll be a far more substantial uprooting than college was! Eep! Pray for this effort, if you are so inclined! Danke! [/sidenote]
